Electronic Service Provision Project
Information sharing is one of the keys to effective working and improving service delivery across the authorities in Kent.
The ESP project has adopted a Kent Connects information sharing portal as its means of develop collaborative working between its partners and to share best practice and standards across the project in a safe and secure environment.
The plan for the ESP Project was originally envisioned by Dover District Council as a solution to the problem of the amount of paper coming into the council from the public and writing out by the council by using intelligent electronic forms for the front office and self service while trying to reach out to third parties such as Registered Social Landlords, the Citizens Advice Bureau and more to conduct as much business as possible electronically leading to a better service for the public and cost and efficiency savings for the council. However, via the East Kent Cluster Chief Executives Forum, scope was found to expand the project to the surrounding councils in East Kent and beyond to establish best practice for numerous processes, leading to shared practice, shared service, self service, shared procurement and a consistent approach to services to the public and our private partners across East Kent.
This portal is for anybody to expresss their opinion as to how this can be achieved. If there are current projects being carried out by councils we want to know about it as this project is just as much about sharing information.
