East Kent Transformed by you 2014
On Saturday 29th November Kent Connects held its annual Transformed by you Innovation day at the Woolf Centre, part of the University of Kent in Canterbury. The event was a fantastic success with everyone working together and helping each other with the various ideas and prototypes. Attendees banded together at the start of the day and quickly started developing some amazing solutions. Activities ranged from looking at an app to encourage students to learn about cultural foods to drones flying around in the lobby.
We had incredible feedback from all attendees and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Many commented that they had gained real value from the experience and had made great new connections with other likeminded individuals.
The winners of this year’s event,’ MyCycle’ brought together two separate groups of innovators who agreed to work together as one team. They really embodied the spirit of the competition and went on to win with their idea about encouraging more cycling by facilitating a ‘buddy system’ and crowdsourcing alternative travel method data.
Finally all those that contributed both in front and behind the scenes are to be congratulated. Without their support the 2014 Transformed by you event would not have been as lively, creative, innovative, productive and fun.
